Showers Center Splashpad a Summer Oasis in Huntsville
This is our favorite splashpad in town, making it the fourth free water installation for kids that can be found in Huntsville! The Richard Showers Center opened the new water play area to the public in 2016, and it joined others at Bridge Street, Brahan Springs, and downtown’s Children’s Fountain behind Earlyworks.
It’s a great space that has been added to the popular Recreation Center – now you can swim in the indoor pool, check out books at the library, play some basketball in the gym or baseball on the fields, work out in the newly renovated weight room, AND stay cool at the splash pad!
Showers Center Splashpad Features
Created with kids in mind, this splash pad has some great features the other local pads don’t have, making it a great summer adventure destination.
- Miniature waterslide
- Lots of pop jets & spray fountains at different levels for different ages
- Water dump bucket
- Several shade structures with benches
- Great covered area with picnic tables and several trashcans
- New locker room and bathrooms with changing tables
There’s even an adjacent indoor community meeting room to host birthday parties and family reunions – cut the cake, sing Happy Birthday, and then head outside to play on the splash pad!
