Around the Curtain Children’s Theatre

Around the Curtain Community Children’s Theatre is a local 501c3 non-profit dedicated to their mission of “Keeping Kids in Theatre.” Their current season includes 7 shows, with students and cast members ranging from 2 years through high school. Students have opportunities to learn all aspects of the theatre, including acting, choreography, singing, set design and construction, costume design, lights, sound, filmmaking, stage management, and more. They also have a robust schedule of homeschool classes with for-credit options and after-school programs. All classes are taught by local professionals and/or certified educators.

Southeast Homeschool Expo

The Southeast Homeschool Expo is a three-day event with hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of products where parents can review and purchase the latest curriculum, hear great speakers who give practical encouragement, and receive personalized help and answers to any question. The workshops emphasize the practical aspects of working with children in ways that will promote their educational, social and emotional growth. The expo typically takes place in late July and tickets run $10-$20 with advanced registration.

Shoals Educational Enrichment Resources (SEER)– Shoals Educational Enrichment Resources is a small business offering classes, camps, support groups and a small retail store full of wonderful educational resources.
