Mayfair is located in the Medical District of Huntsville on Thornton Avenue. With several baseball fields, at least one soccer field and two playgrounds on either side of the park, it’s a large complex and a nice option for those living in the area. There are restrooms and a water fountain as well as a couple of covered pavilions with picnic tables.
Of the two playgrounds, only one is suitable for very small children (under two years old) but both have benches to sit and watch the children which is nice since not all parks have that. Both the playgrounds are the standard “city” materials made up of plastic slides, riding toys, a couple of swings and a climbing apparatus. The larger playground does offer some shade but the baby swings are  old and off to the side of the rest of the playground. The two playgrounds are at opposite ends of the park but are not too far to walk even with little ones.
Overall, a good park if you live in the area but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get there unless I was attending a baseball game.
