Bridge Street Hosting Festive Holiday Events for Families
- 2023 Christmas & Holiday fun starts November 17.
- Features a laser light show, Santa visits, & kid's characters!

For my kids the holidays are all about Santa, hot chocolate, and snow. For me it’s more about the music, Christmas lights, and snow. There is one place each holiday season that provides almost everything on both our lists – snow in Alabama is still rare enough to be a novelty. Bridge Street Town Center lights its giant Christmas tree each year around mid-November and if you aren’t already in the holiday mood by then, these FREE family-friendly events will get you there.
Make your holidays merry and bright at the Lights Up tree lighting ceremony at Bridge Street Town Center or catch one of the many holiday events! You can even make an outing of it – our group typically meets up at Barnes & Noble and then heads out towards the big Christmas tree. You can experience all these activities below by walking that route. (TIP: get there early to avoid parking hassles and as an added bonus, plenty of time to enjoy a little Starbucks)

For me, the holidays aren’t here without music, cold weather, a brightly lit tree, and good smells in the kitchen!
I hope it’s not too cold. We’ve never been and I would like to take the kids.
Oh, and what makes it special is the reactions my little girls have to everything.
Love spending time with the family.
I love spending time with my family and cooking for everyone.
I love everything about this time of year. So fun!
Decorating the tree with my family while fun Christmas music plays. We act crazy and dance around while we decorate. So fun!
Going back to my home in MO, with my kids, spending time with my entire family and letting all the grandmas and grandpas have mutch needed time with their grandkids.
We go back to MO too! Where in MO are you guys from?
I know our four kids would love to see this!
I love spending time with out of town family!
That look of awe my daughter gets when she sees the lights, Santa, and all of the holiday activities
Cooking the stuff you only make once or twice a year and getting everyone together to enjoy it!
I love spending time with family, cooking, and decorating. We will be bundled up and ready for the tree lighting!
Fun! Love creating holiday memories with the family.
I love the excitement on my little guys face during the whole season!
Christmas music is the absolute best (and Target Black Friday commercials!). One of my aunts made everyone Christmas song books, from my Grandparents all the way down to my youngest cousin (none of the great-grandbabies – there are already 16 of them in 7 years! have their own book, YET!) has their own. When we get together for our Christmas party, we spend about 3 hours singing every christmas song imaginable…and my dad, his siblings, and my grandparents all sing harmony – it is BEAUTIFUL! Just writing about it is making me tear up! My grandfather sings a special song that he has sung for as long as I can remember and it makes me cry every single year bc his voice is just so beautiful! When we were younger, all of the grandkids brought the musical instrument that they were currently studying and we all played one song together. It was quite a sight(and thankfully no one ever recorded it), as we would have keyboards, saxophones, a flute, drums, a violin, a sousaphone, a tuba, a trumpet, clarinets, and of course, an accordion! That for me (even though it is always after Christmas) makes the holidays!
Family makes the holiday season special to us. We also have traditions, like doing the walk through at the Galaxy of Lights.
We love the whole season, and all the beautiful lights.
Being with family and watching the excited faces of kids as they open their presents.
It’s this feeling I can’t really describe. I guess it just comes from all the things I know are coming — time with family, lights/decorations, yummy baked treats, crisp weather…I love it all.
Putting up the tree really gets me Christmas spirit. It really signals the start of the Christmas season.
What a great way to start the holidays!! I hope we can make it! Thank you for the giveaway!!
I love the music and the feeling of togetherness! It’s especially wonderful to relive the magic of Christmas through my children.
I love the holidays, and it’s even better now that we have little ones. My daughter seems to have grown fond of the jolly old man also known as Santa. We haven’t had a freak-out moment with him yet. We can’t wait to go on the train ride this year! We didn’t get to go last year because of events that were already planned but are very excited to share this experience with our daughter. We have been anticipating this holiday season for awhile, especially with the addition to our family who is scheduled to arrive on the 18th of December. It’ll be a fun, at times crazy, but memorable Christmas and holiday season 🙂
Getting the whole family together and heading out West to Gramma & Papa’s house. The joy in the kid’s eyes when we are all together is the most precious part.
Getting a real live Christmas tree. Never had one until two years ago when my husband bought and cut Down the tree… I love the smell of them… Makes me think of our Christmases together.
Family and being together are what make the holidays special for me! Celebrating the life of Jesus!
We love the whole season! Putting up the tree, making cookies, buying and wrapping presents, and especially midnight mass on Christmas Eve to celebrate Jesus’ birthday!
Spending time with my children – seeing the holidays through their eyes makes the holidays special to me
I love the music, trimming the tree, and buying that perfect gift that you just know the recipient is going to love.
Getting together with family that we don’t see often enough!! Seeing everyone growing up! I have been very into cooking lately and am excited to try and share new recipes!! I love traditions!!
Since I am from Germany we also celebrate St Nicholas Day on Dec 6th. It’s always the beginning of the holiday season for me
Looking forward to trying the train!
Fantastic decorations!
Would love to win this! Sounds great!
