Know Your Vote 2020 – Meet the Huntsville & Madison Candidates

Huntsville City election Madison City elections

While national elections loom large, it’s actually LOCAL elections that make the biggest impact in communities where they are held. Now, more than ever, local residents need to look closely at who they will elect to lead them through the next few years – through Covid-19, through another school year, through times of crisis as well as times of prosperity.

Families that live in Huntsville City and Madison City have several local candidates they should research, and we wanted to make it a little easier for them to do that. Just like in previous local elections that specifically affect families, Rocket City Mom has compiled a series of posts about each candidate. We asked them to answer the same four questions, and have run their responses each unedited and as they have sent them to us.

Remember – you also have until August 20th to submit your Absentee ballot if you prefer voting by mail rather than in-person this year. #ThanksCovid

Who Are We Voting For Again?

If you’ve dropped the ball, it’s still not too late to recap and learn a little bit about the candidates. Don’t worry – we’ve only asked them four questions each, so it’s not too long!

Madison residents will be voting on city council representatives in six of the seven districts. Huntsville residents will also be voting on city council, and both cities will select who will be the next mayor. Note: all of these municipal races are non-partisan, the (I) besides a name identifies an Incumbent.
