Huntsville Botanical Garden Nature Academy offers outdoor learning for K-8
It’s 2020 and parents are looking for any and all ways to get their kids out of the house safely. Add on the *bonus* of actual learning and it’s a slam dunk!
That’s what makes programs like Huntsville Botanical Garden’s Nature Academy so ideal for this strange time. The academy provides monthly hands-on science classes to enrich STEM learning for students in grades K-8. Registration is open to all homeschool, public school, and private school students in the area.
Nature Academy offers three seasons of three classes each. Every month, a new class will be offered covering a different nature science topic. These two-hour adventures are led by certified instructors and most experiences will be outdoors with very limited time inside.
Fall classes will include the exploration of plants from roots to seed; the creepy, crawly world of insects; and the chemistry of leaves. Each season offers three classes total offered over three months.
Fall:Â August, September, October (3 classes total)
Winter:Â November, December, January (3 classes total)
Spring:Â February, March, April (3 classes total)
Don’t Delay
The first classes of the Fall season start August 22 so don’t wait, these classes are very popular and this revised schedule will fill up quickly. If you miss out, don’t worry. Winter and Spring classes are already listed on the site and registration for Winter opens October 1, 2020.
