Burritt on the Mountain reopens just in time for Memorial Day Weekend

If you’ve been missing those majestic views your wait is now over. Burritt on the Mountain will be opening backup to the public this Saturday, May 23.

In an announcement made late Thursday, Burritt assured potential visitors that they were “following all recommended guidelines” and encouraged them to read a full Covid-19 plan on the website.

Safety Measures

Expect to see all employees in masks, disinfecting their hands often, cleaning surfaces frequently, and limiting the number of visitors who enter buildings at one time.

Burritt also asks that visitors follow health recommendations that include:

  • Maintaining a distance of at least 6 feet from staff members and visitors who are not in your party.
  • Wear a mask or face covering.
  • Do not visit if you have any symptoms of illness.
  • We are disinfecting frequently-touched surfaces multiple times each day. Please be patient if an area closes briefly for cleaning.
  • Frequently wash your hands or use hand sanitizer (provided at several locations across the park) to help keep you and others safe.
  • Follow guidelines about how many people are allowed in a building/area at one time and signs about the direction that foot traffic should travel.

What’s New

This year’s seasonal attraction will look familiar to frequent Burritt visitors since Whimsical Woods is a beloved favorite. However, there is something new for returning guests as well as new visitors who will all be delighted to explore creative flip flop art from Ocean Sole Africa. These enchanting sculptures will be scattered throughout the park and are made entirely from recycled materials.

For more information about what to expect from your upcoming visit check out this article we wrote all the way back in early March (was that 2.5 months or 2.5 years ago?) about the new exhibit.

Note: To reduce the number of frequently-touched surfaces in the Whimsical Woods, they have put all of the stories that accompany the stations online. Make sure to check these out before visiting.
