If you’ve got a little one in your home or on the way then you know that your number one priority is keeping them safe and healthy. Yes, that does often feel like an impossible task but you don’t have to do it alone. Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children wants to help local parents get a better handle on keeping your precious ones safe with a series of free child safety classes.

Child Passenger Safety

This class does not include a car seat check, but it provides parents with helpful tips on installing/using child car seats and keeping kids safe in the car. Parents will also learn about the latest regulations related to child passenger safety.

Parents will learn how to make the home safer for children including bathroom, kitchen and garage safety using interactive tools to practice what they learn. Prevention of choking, suffocation, drowning, falls, poisoning and burns will also be covered.
Safe Sleep for Babies

A national study revealed that half of American babies are sleeping in unsafe environments caused by loose bedding in their cribs. This class teaches parents how to create safe sleep areas to help prevent Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID).

This summer safety class reviews the dangers that come with summer fun and outdoor activity and how parents can take precautions to keep their children safe.
