The Piney Chapel American Farm Heritage Days is considered one of the best antique engine shows in Alabama offering festival goers a chance to see an array of farm equipment including gasoline and steam engines in action, horse-drawn equipment, antique tractors, cars and trucks and other farming collectibles!The two-day event also offers a variety of flea market, parts and craft vendors and concessions! Proceeds from concession sales this year will go to the Owens Fire Department. The 2025 Scottsboro Dragon Boat Race and Festival is a premier sporting event drawing participants and attendees from throughout the region for a day of exciting, friendly competition in an atmosphere fueled with community spirit. Spectators gather at Goose Pond Colony and Resort to cheer on their favorite teams who board 46-feet long traditional Hong Kong-style dragon boats for a race along Lake Guntersville. Each team consists of 22 people, with a drummer at the front, 20 seated rowers and a steerer in the back. Dragon boat racing originated more than 2,300 years ago and creates a spectacle like no other with colorful boats, drumming rhythms and unique paddling stroke!
