Surrender Incorporated (a 5013c charitable organization), in association with the Huntsville Drum Circle is hosting this workshop to promote the art of hand drumming and provide an opportunity for people to learn more about what is one of the oldest, and most fundamental forms of music.

Erroll “Donkor” Woodward will be leading the workshop. Donkor is an accomplished, multi-talented artist & musician with a lifetime of experience to share. He resides in Birmingham, Alabama, and has a long association with the Huntsville Drum Circle.

The workshop is open to the public- All ages & levels of experience are welcome. There will be something to offer for everyone.
There will be drums & percussion instruments available for use, or bring your own if you have one…. Chairs will be available but if you have a chair or stool that you prefer to use, bring it along.
Light refreshments will be provided.

The workshop agenda will depend in part on the level of experience of the participants, but will start with a review of basic rhythms & techniques. Following the workshop, if the weather cooperates we will re-group in Big Spring Park for the usual Sunday afternoon Drum Circle.

Pre-registration isn’t necessary, but if you call or text John Di Dio- “JD” (256-882-1153) to let us know you plan to attend it will help us in our preparations. Or just show up. We will accommodate.
