They offer group music classes for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers in addition to private lessons including vocal, piano, violin, and guitar, among others. Our oldest started in the toddler music class when she was 2 and continued through age 5. She then moved onto piano lessons. My three older kids take private piano lessons from the owner, Justine Seeley. Words cannot express how wonderful she is. She is able to work with so many types of personalities and my kids always come out of their lessons happy and upbeat. Two recitals are held each year. The Spring recital is the formal one, normally held at UAH. In the Fall, there is a more relaxed recital held at the gazebo in downtown Madison. Both are lovely events. My youngest takes their preschool music class. She looks forward to it every single week and lights up when it’s time for class to begin. She has learned a lot so far. I’ve never felt the need to shop around or try anywhere else for music when it ones to my children. In my opinion, the environment, knowledge the teachers have, and price just can’t be beat. – Amy W.

We have been attending Colors Fine Arts Center for almost 10 years. My two children have taken piano and guitar lessons through Colors, and now I take my niece to the Musical Tot class. I cannot say enough kind things about director Justine Seeley, and all the teachers. They are extremely professional, well educated, talented and caring individuals. They feature 2 recitals a year which really enhances the program and students’ confidence. Several of the teachers are active in community productions to include musicals and live performances. My daughter took lessons from Mrs. Haun for 4 years. She is an excellent teacher! Patient and kind yet sets a high bar for excellence. Would highly recommend her for piano lessons. Also, she plays beautifully as well. – Kay M.

My boys took piano lessons for eight years from Connie Haun and were very well classically trained. The boys scored very high every year on their piano guild auditions. Mrs. Haun was easy to work around their busy soccer schedules and always knew what techniques worked best with their different playing styles. When my oldest wanted to play different genres (like Beatles) Mrs. Haun immediately got the sheet music and went to instructing. A wonderful teacher who we have formed a lifelong relationship. – Toni H.

They keep the class size small and each child gets individualized attention. They teach real karate and self-defense and as a result the kids learn respect, discipline and it builds up their confidence too. They also have so much fun!! – Vickie

We love Madison Martial Arts. My son is about to turn 5 and loves taking karate classes there. The classes are small so the students are able to get one on one interaction with the instructors. Sensei Russell and Sensei Morgon are patient and take their time to make sure the kids are doing the moves correctly. I knew the first time we tried a class that this was the best place for us. There is no sparring. They teach the kids how to get away from someone if they grab them, so they are learning self defense techniques as well as karate. – Stephanie W.[/sws_ui_toggle]

Ashley from Rocket City Martial Arts was there promoting her business. She offered a free class for my children to try if they were interested. My son was very interested in Martial Arts and so we set up a time to come in. My son and daughter ended up signing up for classes. Our family has been in their dojo ever since. We love that our kids are challenged to learn skills in many areas like leadership, self defense, teamwork, listening skills among many others. The best part is feeling like I have extended family. The owners are an amazing couple who are welcoming, friendly and compassionate about adding value to our children’s lives. They even have fitness classes and adult Martial Arts classes as well.
