Theatre Huntsville is proud to present its production of Peter and the Starcatcher – a whimsical tale, in a time before Wendy, Captain Hook, or Tinker Bell. And the best part? This all-ages show will delight fans of both the original tale by J.M. Barrie AND the book series by humorist Dave Barry and suspense writer Ridley Pearson. It’s the grownup prequel to Peter Pan that tells the story of the Neverland you never knew.
But Where’s Tinkerbell?
Cast member, JD Willis, plays Boy, a mute orphan who embarks on a sea voyage with his friends and a trunk full of magical starstuff. “This is a coming-of-age story, but not your typical one.” JD promises fans of the Disney’s Peter Pan story won’t be disappointed. “There’s something in this show for everybody – childhood innocence, tons of fun, and slapstick humor.”
After its premiere at the La Jolla Playhouse, followed by a brief Off-Broadway run, Peter and the Starcatcher opened on Broadway in 2012 and earned five Tony Awards. Theatre Huntsville is delighted to bring this timeless story to Huntsville audiences, produced by special arrangement with Music Theatre International.
The Theatre Huntsville cast includes: Art Walthall as Black Stache, Bill Hubscher as Lord Aster, Christopher Kelly Carter as Smee, John Masterson Coleman as Captain Scott, Micah Colin Young as Mrs. Brumbrake, Scott Royland as Ted, Dane Rich as Prentiss, Andy Cayse as Fighting Prawn, David Schulte as Ted, Anthony Guffey as Slank, Meredith Johnson as Molly, and JD Willis as Boy.
Peter and the Starcatcher Show Details
When: September 13, 14, 19, 20, and 21 at 7:30 pm, and September 15 & 21 at 2:00 pm
Where: Von Braun Center Playhouse
