Who else is reeling from a whirlwind week? Most of you have started school and some of you are about to start school – who knows if we’re coming or going? Athens Kiddie Carnival

This is the LAST weekend to catch this summer carnival for kids. Seriously, read our review and you’ll be lining up! Tokens to ride are just $.50 each and all monies go to local charities. A North Alabama tradition that needs to become your family’s summer tradition.

Live Variety Show

Be a part of a live studio audience for a chance to be among three randomly selected and willing contestants and attempt to steal the show! Contestants will complete three rounds and wow the audience with their hidden talents, then the audience will vote for the winner! Who will receive $100 in cash as reward for playing? Live band. Stock Up on School Snacks

Help out local farmers and stock up your fridge with yummy snacks for your kids’ lunchbox at the same time! The Madison Farmer’s Market is every Saturday through November and provides a wide selection of the freshest local veggies, fruits, cheese, eggs, meats, milk, herbs, honey, jams, relishes, home-baked goods, plants and flowers.

Build-It Workshop

Saturday from 9Am – Noon

Join this hands-on workshop and you and your child can build a wooden Penske truck to roll some fun into August. Once the project is complete, your child can personalize their truck with stickers and paint. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. Children must be present at the store to participate in the workshop and receive the kit, apron and pin.

Community Day Carnival

International Sailor Moon Day

Back to School Fashion Bash

This annual fashion show will feature all the looks for school this year, as well as performances by local dance groups and photo opportunities with princesses and superheroes. Friends of Mr. Potter will be enchanted on this magical train ride! The second annual Magic on the Mercury & Chase is scheduled to depart from Platform “Six and Nine Quarters”. Our friends at NARM have lined up a couple of “special guests,” so be sure to grab a ticket online. It was a blast last year – don’t forget your wand if you have one.

Into the Woods

The Huntsville Community Chorus Association presents Into the Woods. “Careful what you wish for…” In Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s fairy-tale inspired musical, the characters venture Into the Woods to make their wishes come true – the baker and his wife wish for a child; Cinderella wishes to go to the festival; and Jack wishes for a cow that will give milk. See the show, be entertained by wonderful young performers, and find out what happens after “happily ever after”!
