Huntsville’s STEM Center of Innovation Summer Camp

As we’ve mentioned in the past, if STEM is what your child is into, Huntsville is the place to be this summer.
Now there’s a new summer camp offering in town that features interactive STEM activities throughout using technology, 3d printing, robotics, engineering, and more – the Boys & Girls Club of Huntsville presents their STEM Center of Innovation!
We got the scoop from Angela O’Neil, STEM Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Alabama (you might remember her as Sci-Quest’s Education Director!).
Grades/Ages of Campers: Entering grades 4-9
Counselor/Camper Ratio: 10-1 – each camp is limited to 20 available spots, registration will be limited
2016 Camp Dates:Â July 5-8, july 11-15, July 18-22, July 25-29
- Camps will run from 8:30a to 12:30p
- Breakfast will be served from 7:30a to 8:30a
- Lunch will be served from 12:00p to 12:30p
- Camps are open to members and non-members
- If parents would like for their child to attend the Williams Boys & Girls Club after their camp has concluded for the day (12:30p to 5:00p), there will be a charge of $30.00/week
Cost: costs range from $85 to $110 per camp/ per child
Religious affiliation: None
Are lunch or snacks provided if a day camp? Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
What is your camp’s predominant mission/philosophy? Provide children with interactive STEM activities throughout the summer using technology, 3d printing, robotics, engineering, etc.
What sets your camp apart from other area programs? Camps will be held in the new STEM Center of Innovation, a room dedicated to STEM projects at the Williams Boys & Girls Club. Also, Angela O’Neil (previously Director of Education at Sci-Quest) will be leading these camps.
What activity opportunities exist for your campers? Robotics, Forensic Files, Rockets-Racecars-and-Rotorcraft, Steam Up Some Science, Electronic Inventors
