Superhero Run for Child Advocacy
More than 6 million children are affected by child abuse in the US each year, with a report made every 10 seconds.
Huntsville, Alabama plays a large role in protecting abused children around the country by opening the nation’s first Children’s Advocacy Center almost 30 years ago. Today the NCAC is a national leader dedicated to providing an array of child abuse intervention services to Madison County and its surrounding areas in order to minimize the long-term effects of abuse.
Simply put, the men and women who work there are superheroes for thousands of children.
And now, YOU can be a hero for a day to help their cause.
Run Like a Hero
The Superheroes 5K/1M & Fun Run is the National Children’s Advocacy Center’s annual event to raise funds and awareness to fight child abuse. The Fun Run provides funding for local programs, services and advocacy efforts that will improve the lives of children affected by child abuse.

Register to walk or run online – it’s easy! (Register by 3/28 to get this year’s tshirt!)
Registration begins at 7:00 AM and the event schedule is:
- 7:30: 1 Mile Certified Race
- 8:00: 5K start
- 9:00: 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
- 9:30: Awards Ceremony/ Costume Contest
Party Like a Hero
Not a runner? Join the free Family Block Party on the NCAC Campus from 8:00 – 11:00. It will feature food, inflatables, games and activities for kids of ALL ages. Superhero costumes are encouraged, so bring out Spidey, Wonder Woman, The Hulk, and all your favorites!
The Huntsville Police Department will be at the party doing FREE child fingerprinting for parents to use in case their child gets lost. The Family Block Party is always a blast and a great way to participate in the community support for the NCAC.
