More than 6 million children are affected by child abuse in the US each year, with a report made every 10 seconds.
Huntsville, Alabama plays a large role in protecting abused children around the country by opening the nation’s first Children’s Advocacy Center almost 30 years ago. Today the NCAC is a national leader dedicated to providing an array of child abuse intervention services to Madison County and its surrounding areas in order to minimize the long-term effects of abuse.[themify_quote]“Not all superheroes wear capes but you can be a hero for abused children! Please join us for the free block party and superhero costume contest after the races on the 11th” – Sarah Oglesby, Race Director[/themify_quote]
Simply put, the men and women who work there are superheroes for thousands of children.
And now, YOU can be a hero for a day to help their cause.
