Check Out These Wi-Fi Mobile Hotspots

Busy families & road-trippers rejoice! The Huntsville-Madison County Public Library is making life easier for you and your family on the go with new Internet hotspots.
[sws_pullquote_right]They are great for those long trips in the car when you’d like to stream movies, play games, download books, music and more! [/sws_pullquote_right] HMCPL is adding THE INTERNET to the long list of resources available for patrons to check out. We are partnering with T-Mobile to provide unlimited downloads through a small, hand-held device that will create a personal Wi-Fi bubble. We call these devices hotspots. These mobile Wi-Fi hotspots will let you save money on your phone data plans and still have a personal Internet access point to take on vacation or to use in your cars, homes, and any other place where you need to connect. They are great for those long trips in the car when you’d like to stream movies, play games, download books, music and more.
Each hotspot can have up to 10 mobile devices — iPads, Kindles, laptops, even PlayStations or Nintendo handhelds — connected simultaneously. They connect to the Internet via T-Mobile’s 4G LTE network, allowing download speeds potentially over 30 megabits per second (Mbps). Everyone can play!
HMCPL will have 100 hotspots available for lending system-wide.
The devices can be placed on hold and returned to any location in the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library system. The fee is small for so much service: unlimited downloading and peace of mind (or the backseat!) Just stop by your local branch or visit us on the web 24-7 at www.hmcpl.org.
This service is just another way the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library is connecting the community at large with technology that is accessible to all.

Mom to a tween, Adelyn and wife to a ruggedly handsome outdoorsman with an obsession with planting bamboo, Mandy finds enjoyment in painting, gardening and geeking out over various pop culture.
