After years of serving the Hampton Cove and Huntsville communities, Up a Creek will be expanding the adventure into Madison this year! Under the new ownership of Jordan and Chaz Rogers, Up a Creek offers unique programs for children to allow for safe fun even during a pandemic.

The Adventure Continues

Featuring rock climbing walls, inflatables, a surf simulator, a tree house and more, the Hampton Cove Up a Creek location has offered a unique environment for family fun for years. New owner, Jordan Rogers says bringing the same fun for Madison was a no brainer.

“The stars kind of aligned. It was almost a question of how could we not bring our services to the families of Madison?” Jordan said.

Much like the original Up a Creek, the Madison location will be bringing the same exciting indoor and outdoor play areas, but will also be twice the size. Jordan says they are looking forward to adding in additional play structures, trampolines, and more.

The Madison Up a Creek will be located at the newly renovated Hughes Plaza located at 181 Hughes Road Suite 18. Jordan said it’s been something that has involved the entire family since her aunt and uncle are currently overseeing the renovations at Hughes Plaza and will be neighbors with another aunt and uncle that owns Bicycle Cove. In addition, Jordan’s mother-in-law will be permanently joining the team as the Owner/Program Director at the Madison location.

“On top of all this, we were able to pull my mother-in-law, Jennifer Rogers, out of the classroom to become the owner and program director of the new Madison location. She brings 22 years of childhood education experience. Her addition will allow me to remain focused on continuing to provide an awesome experience for our current Hampton Cove families. We think there is a real need in the area for an after school program where kids can have fun and discover while being very active, and we look forward to serving the families of Madison.” Jordan said.

Jordan says they are looking to open the new location for the start of school on August 4.

I really just want to continue to run a solid program that parents can rely on. We have great workers that love being with the kids. I want to continue to find new places for the kids to have adventures.

Meet the Faces Behind Up a Creek

A design engineer and former elementary school teacher, Chaz and Jordan are the new owners of Up a Creek. After becoming a stay at home mom, Jordan said Up a Creek offered the perfect opportunity to revisit some of her favorite things about teaching in a new way.

“When we heard that Up a Creek was being sold, we immediately knew it was a great fit for our family. I had always imagined myself going back to teaching, but with little ones still at home, this was perfect. I love being around kiddos and am super passionate about what the program offers. With the rigorous schedules of school, I don’t feel like kids get enough time to adventure and explore. At Up a Creek, the kids get so much outside and play time. Even my own kids leave so tired every day,” she said.

Exploring Up a Creek

Jordan says Up a Creek is a “place for kids to have new adventures and get a bunch of energy out.”

Currently, Up a Creek is offering socially distanced and COVID safe after school programs during the week along with camps and private parties. Jordan says they are looking forward to reopening with Parents’ Night Out and free play as soon as it is safe to do so. She says currently they are focusing on keeping things safe and fun for the kids while providing invaluable services to the community.

“Because I already loved the program so much, and I wanted a seamless transition for the kids, most of the program is still the same. I have so enjoyed getting to spend my days at Up a Creek and have loved meeting all the wonderful families. I have tried very hard to offer as many options as possible during these COVID times. If school goes virtual, we go virtual. Staggered weeks, we did it! I think it has helped take away stress from parents figuring out what to do with the inconsistencies.”
