UAH Competition Encourages Teens to be Entrepreneurs

entrepreneur

beE [be Entrepreneurial] is an Entrepreneurship and Idea Competition for High School students. beE is presented by The College of Business Administration at The University of Alabama in Huntsville and the D.S. Davidson Invention to Innovation Center. beE is supported by Urban Engine, a nonprofit organization supporting STEAM innovation and entrepreneurship in Northern Alabama.

The mission of beE is to empower the next generation of high school entrepreneurs to ideate, collaborate and deliver new ideas. Teams of talented north Alabama high school students, supported by brilliant teachers and tutored by professional UAH mentors, will compete in a business idea challenge to win cash and prizes of $3,000 and more.

How to Participate in beE

Registration is open NOW. While there is no cost to participate, all students and teachers must register and submit an idea. A very simple four-step process is the only thing standing between students and the opportunity to compete for cash prizes!

Step 1: Start early and let us know you’re interested. Register using “Register Now” link on the beE website, be-entrepreneurial.org. Remember every student member on your team must register.

Step 2: Explain your idea. Students will need to submit their application using the “Submit Idea Now” link on the beE website.

Step 3: Once students submit their application, their school representative will be contacted be beE coordinators to set-up a team mentoring session. Your team will have two (2) mentoring sessions with the beE expert. The goal of these sessions is to help your team with the ideation and pitch presentation. You learn, you adapt, you prepare, you present, you could WIN!

Step 4: The Grand Finale event takes place October 25th, 2018. Student teams will get the opportunity to visit the University of Alabama in Huntsville and present at the College of Business along with participants from other schools and invited guests. Presentations will be judged in two rounds (semi-final and final) by a panel of judges who will ultimately decide the winning teams.
