About His Service

Kevin began volunteering at the Madison Public Library when he turned 13 – the minimum age to participate in their Summer Teen Volunteer Program.

Lisa Blackmon, Youth Service Librarian at the Madison Library, has high praise for Kevin’s dedication to service.

“For hundreds of hours, Kevin has done everything from shelf reading & cleaning, to hands-on demonstration of wand-making with 6-year-olds. He is always up for a challenge without complaint. Kevin has consistently exceeded expectations as a volunteer, and he manages to let a hint of his dry sense of humor shine through without missing a beat. I believe he manages to do this while excelling academically and in extracurricular activities, as well. Our library has been remarkably fortunate to have Kevin on our team, and I anticipate hearing about the wonderful things he will be a part of in the future. I am confident he deserves this award.”

Kevin has volunteered at the Madison Library for over five years.
