Welcome back to our quarterly roundup of Madison Family Fun! Each season Melissa will be delivering fun and family-friendly events in Madison, Alabama to busy parents there. Of course, our specialty is free/cheap things to do in Madison but the ultimate goal is spending time together in your community.

The weather is cooling down, leaves will be changing, and pumpkins are appearing on front porches everywhere. Fall is here and we’ve rounded up some Madison family fun to enjoy together. Whether indoors or outdoors, your family is sure to enjoy a perfect Fall with these fun events.

Oil Change Day

Our free Oil Change Day is one way we care for women in the community to help ensure they have reliable transportation. If you’re a single mom, widow, or wife of deployed military personnel, please call our church office at 256-837-0365 to reserve one of our limited appointment slots. Madison Witches Ride, Roll & Stroll
October 22 at 3 PM
Cost: $25 – $50 to Participate, FREE to observe
Save the date for Madison, Alabama’s first ever Witches Ride, Roll & Stroll! This premiere event brings together members of the community for a great cause. Organized by Madison Visionary Partners to benefit the Kids Kingdom Playground Renovation Project. There has never been a better way to showcase your Halloween spirit!

WHAT IS IT?
A fun, 2-mile bike ride/walk and pet parade, the Madison Witches Ride, Roll & Stroll will feature festive local witches of all sorts riding their brooms (bikes), parading their pets, and strolling through Palmer Park and spreading Halloween cheer by throwing candy to hundreds of onlooking children along the route.

Stay for the whole Black Hat Block Party and Barks & Boos Pet Parade after the witches fly!

Railyard BBQ & Music Festival
October 28 | 11 AM – 10:30 PM

The Inaugural Railyard BBQ Brawl and Music Festival is coming to Historic Downtown Madison AL. This event is unlike anything to happen in downtown in its storied history. Enjoy a fun day of BBQ cooking fun and entertainment, culminating with four musical performances headlined by Walker Montgomery. Come early and let the kiddos play, get your spot in the field marked with your favorite blanket and chairs, and enjoy the smells coming from the 50 cooking teams all trying to be #1 at this KCBS Sanctioned BBQ Brawl. You don’t want to miss this great Fall event!

Madison City Farmers Market is the area’s original local, producer-only farmers market, founded in 2007. Everything sold at the market is grown or crafted by local farmers and craftspeople. Vendors provide a wide selection of the freshest  local veggies, fruits, cheese, eggs, meats, milk, herbs, honey, jams, relishes, home-baked goods, plants and flowers. Come see creations from local artisans including handmade cards, soaps, lotions, candles, wood crafts, sewn items and other handmade products.
