Decatur Ghost Walk

Ghosts of Union soldiers who died during the war wait for a train to stop for their bodies. They tell us their pocket watches have been taken and they do not know what time it is. 150 years after the war, they still wait for the train. Although Dead Man’s Alley has been covered up and forgotten, it was the location of several sinister murders that still leave visitors uneasy. The ghost of infamous riverboat captain Simp McGhee wanders along Bank Street, raging at his fate.

Hear these stories, and many more, on our newest tour, the Decatur Ghost Walk! Tours begin promptly at 6 p.m., every Saturday in October, on the steps of the Old State Bank on Bank Street. Tickets are $10 for adults; $5 for kids 12 and under. Buy your tickets 30 minutes before tour time.
