For students that are struggling, many parents feel helpless – the years spent outside of a classroom make it difficult to assist children with new work. (Common core math, anyone?) Working families struggle to find time to go over homework, and if there is a child in the home playing a sport or participating in an extracurricular activity, time is precious and hard won between schedules. For students looking for guidance to continue achieving Homework Alabama is also a great resource. It’s without a doubt a real game-changer for many families.

I have been invited to many school open houses to help with library card signups. For the past year, I’ve been sharing the good word of to families who stop by the library. Every child in Alabama has a secret weapon in the quest for better understanding of school assignments and better grades. This resource is absolutely FREE, and is so easy to use.

What is Homework Alabama & Why Should You Care?

With this resource, students and parents have a powerful ally in the homework battle. Homework Alabama offers FREE online tutoring and academic resources from for Alabama residents from kindergarten students through college, PLUS adult learners. Get help in math, science, English, social studies or writing from a live tutor.

Tutors are available 10:00 AM – 11:00 PM., every day of the week. The SkillsCenter Resource Library is available 24/7. The services can be accessed from any Alabama public library, from your home computer, or from your mobile device.

Not Just for Kids
Adults, take notice: you can receive one-to-one, real-time assistance with your job search. Online tutors are available to help navigate job sites, complete applications, write/review resumes and cover letters and even practice for an interview. You can take a career assessment, search job openings and download resume samples and templates on the 24/7 SkillsCenter Resource Library. This is a truly invaluable resource that many aren’t aware is available.

When you visit the site, you can connect with a live tutor to assist you on a variety of homework topics. All tutors are screened and vetted by the service, so you know they are highly qualified. If live help isn’t what you need, you can drop off an essay, paper or resume for review and receive detailed feedback in 24 hours. Drop off math help offers step-by-step explanations of problems. There are even assessment quizzes to allow students to practice and hone their skills. The service is customizable by topic, subject and grade level.

The SkillsCenter Resource Library provides worksheets, lessons, videos and additional resources. Study, test prep and career resources are all highlighted. Students can create an account to save their progress and log in from their computers or mobile devices.
