Happy Fall, RCM readers! I hope your school year is off to a great start! We have lots of family events this month in Athens. Enjoy the (hopefully) cooler weather with many outdoor happenings!

This event is a wonderful family-friendly event that raises money for Eli’s Block Party, a childhood cancer fundraiser. Games, activities, and real-live superheros will all be present at this party! Limestone County Powwow

Come celebrate Native American culture at this two-day event in Athens! There will be Native American live music, food, crafts, Aztec dancers, and more! Bring camp chairs and blankets.
Cultural Concerto in the Park

Teen Time
4th Thursday of the month from 4-5 PM
Grades 7-12
Teens have their own space to hang out at the library. Once a month, the Teen Room will host Teen Time, a themed hour of activity that can range from science experiments to crafts to books (of course!). This month’s theme is painting. Pizza, drinks, and art supplies will be provided.
Ink Slingers
Tuesdays from 4-5 PM
Grades 7-12
Do you have a teenager who loves to write? This program is for them! At Ink Slingers, teens will work on creating short stories that, in the spring, will be compiled into a book of their own composition. This group is a great place for students to get ideas, share their work, and receive help with their short stories.
Life 101
2nd Thursday of the month from 4:30-5:30 PM
Grades 7-12
This group allows students to learn the basic skills of life. How to change a tire, sew a button, cook basic food, and more are part of the curriculum.
