Athens Family Fun in August
Happy August, RCM readers! August means back to school for the kids, but there are still lots of family-friendly things to do in Athens on the weekends! For your younger kids who might not be in school yet, visit our local library for weekday entertainment. Be sure to visit our local parks for story time in the park on Wednesdays!

Piney Chapel American Farm Heritage Days

This annual event is a great way to learn more about farming! Farm equipment of all kinds, including antique farm equipment, is available for viewing at this event. Starting at 7 AM both days, there are many activities for kids of all ages. At 10:00 AM on Friday, there is a 20 mile tractor parade that you won’t want to miss! Live music, food vendors, and competitions for people of all ages make this a great family experience.

Athens Lions Club Kiddie Carnival

This is the last weekend of the Kiddie Carnival season! Take your little ones for a night of fun and excitement at a great price! Rides include the train, cars, airplanes, ferris wheel, swings, and more. Bring your appetite and enjoy delicious burgers, hot dogs, cotton candy, and funnel cakes!

Visit Downtown Athens, get dinner, do some shopping, and enjoy live music! Bring your camp chairs and blankets to sit and relax as the ASU Community Band performs for the last night of Singin’ on the Square. This concert is in conjunction with the Fridays after Five in downtown Athens, where shops and restaurants stay open late and often have discounts!

VVA Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser

Storybook Ball’s “Galactic Glow Party”
