Star Wars in the Park

The Force will debut at sundown on a big inflatable screen in Big Spring Park. Star Wars: The Force Awakens is tonight’s movie! Folks arrive early to claim a prime viewing spot and enjoy featured entertainment before the movie begins, and families can take advantage of the Kids Corner area as well as food trucks starting at 6PM. Movies begin at sundown.
Create a Masterpiece

Drop-in & Create Saturdays are FREE for children and parents/guardians! It’s a hands-on art activity appropriate for the entire family. For this edition of Drop-in & Create, Kids can create their own floral masterpiece using pastels, watercolor and markers inspired by the Burchfield Botanicals exhibit.

Help us repopulate the Purdy Butterfly House by releasing live butterflies in the morning, afternoon, or both! We’ll begin this program with a brief presentation in the Anderson Education Center classroom followed by time spent in the butterfly house enjoying an environmentally safe restoration of our indoor butterfly population! This event will provide a memorable photogenic opportunity for all! Members are $5, Non-members $6.50, Under 3 are free.

Roller Derby Double Header

It’s your last chance to see the Dixie Derby Girls this season, and they are a FORCE to be reckoned with! The 501st Legion will be joining DDG for this epic Star Wars themed bout. I Love Bacon, Highway Kabobbery, and Sugar Belle food trucks will all be there if you get hungry. Huntsville’s own junior roller derby team (ages 8-18) will take the track at 4:30 PM against the Rome Rollerettes.
