OK, we’re not trying to make anyone panic, but there are approximately five weekends left before school starts back. What will you do to stuff as much fun in as possible between now & then? Athens Kiddie Carnival

This carnival just for kids only runs through August 5th and is just for little kiddos. Seriously, read our review and you’ll be lining up. Tokens to ride are just $.50 each and all monies go to local charities. A North Alabama tradition that needs to become your family’s summer tradition. Just for kids under under 42″.
Madison Farmer’s Market
Saturday from 8AM – Noon

Madison City Farmers Market is the area’s original local, producer-only farmers market, founded in 2007. Everything sold at the market is grown or crafted by local farmers and craftspeople. Vendors provide a wide selection of the freshest local veggies, fruits, cheese, eggs, meats, milk, herbs, honey, jams, relishes, home-baked goods, plants and flowers. Parks & Rec Family Fun Fest

Huntsville’s Parks & Rec department is kicking off July right with their #GoPlayHsv initiative! This awesome festival will be full of all the things kids love: field day games, live music, food trucks, demonstrations, a bounce house & water slide, and misting tents to help everyone stay cool.
Huntsville STEAM Works Open House
Saturday from Noon – 3PM

Kids who love all things STEAM should not miss this event! Huntsville’s new destination for makers, artists, geeks, and creatives will have lots to offer for kids: MindGear Labs will be demonstrating their family-friendly projects, and Makers Local 256 will have kid-friendly tech like 3D printers to create small action figures! Arts Huntsville and the Library will also be on hand with some fun stuff for the kids.
Planetarium Show

Learn all about how to prepare for the much-anticipated solar eclipse in August. This presentation will not be a dry lecture format but will include audience participation in explaining many parts of the eclipse. Plus the presenter will share some fun ways to view the eclipse. Guided daytime walk led by education department staff through the Dinosaurs Uproar Alive exhibit and the Dinosaur loop in the Children’s Garden complete with a hands-on activity and something to take home! A different activity will be offered each date.
A Sweet Saturday Scientist

Kids ages 6-9 will love this monthly hands-on activity that emphasizes the development of “STEAM” (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics). This series includes exciting topics like solar energy, precipitation, geology of space and chemistry. Today’s topic: the Science of ICE CREAM!
