Baby Products the Second Time Around
When my husband and I were creating our baby registry for our first child in 2009, we went a little crazy. Let’s face it — we didn’t know what we were doing; we didn’t know which products we actually NEEDED and we didn’t realize how much space those baby items take up.
Now it’s 2016 and we are expecting baby number two! I have some family members requesting we register again, and as I browse the baby aisles, I see there are lots of new products on the market. Here are a few that I think are interesting and potentially helpful:
4Moms Mamaroo Bouncer
This swing bounces and sways similar to the motions of parents. It has an adjustable seat recline and it can be used from birth to 25 pounds (or if baby can attempt to climb out.) I’m told it’s great for babies with acid reflux. It plays music and is MP3 compatible. There are several settings to choose from and some models allow you to control it with your smartphone.
Fisher-Price Newborn Rock ‘n Play Sleeper, Luminosity
Okay, this isn’t a new product, but the newest models now vibrate and auto-rock with the push of a button. There are two rocking speeds, it plays music and sound effects, and it folds up for easy storage. I’m told it’s great for babies with acid reflux; they can sleep in it beside your bed. This is to use from birth to 25 pounds (or if baby can sit up or grasp the side and pull out). I wish I’d had one of these with my first child who had severe acid reflux!
Babybrezza Formula Pro & One Step Sterilizer Dryer ComboThis gadget measures, dispenses, and mixes water with powdered formula with no air bubbles. Where was this when my baby had colic and acid reflux? You can adjust the water temperature to 98 degrees, room temperature or warmer.
Puj PhillUp
If you are blessed to have toddlers, young kids and a newborn, these are a great way to help your kiddos be more independent, and it saves you from having to get up several times to get them something to drink. And hey, it’s less dirty cups! They are dishwasher safe and BPA and PVC free.
BooginHead SippiSnack Cup
This allows your child to carry their drink and snack together, and it has a fold away straw and a compartment that fits snacks or even a pacifier.
Wider Selection of Baby Carriers
Six years ago, I don’t remember babywearing being so common. There are many different types of carriers now, so it’s about finding the right type for you and your baby. I’m seeing more and more men baby wearing these days! Go dads!
