The Party Basics
Age & Gender of the Child: Boy, age 8
Party Theme: Ice Skating Party
Party Location & Facility Rental Costs: Huntsville Municipal Iceplex, 3185 Leeman Ferry Road
# of Party Guests: 16
Invitations: Evites; rink also provides paper invitations
Cake, Food, & Decor
The cake was made by my aunt, and was a large sheet cake decorated like a hockey rink. I found hockey player figures at Southerland Station that doubled as a birthday gift.
The ice rink provided pizzas, sodas, and a party room for us; paper plates, cups, ice, utensils & napkins were included.
Games & Activities
Ice skating! At first I was apprehensive because not many 8 year-olds can ice skate, but we secured some of the ice sliders to help beginners feel more at ease and soon the kids were having a lot of fun. By the end of the party several were ready to sign up for hockey lessons!
Favors
We out together the standard birthday favor bags with candy, toys, and a free pass back to the Iceplex.
