Summer means long days and warm nights which makes it perfect for enjoying a little outdoor music. Lucky for us that Huntsville has lots of opportunities for your family to enjoy FREE music all summer long.

Concerts in the Park

Each Monday night in the summer months downtown Huntsville comes alive with music during Concerts In the Park. This 10-week free series is a co-production of The Arts Council and the City of Huntsville’s Department of Recreation Services and features a wide variety of sounds from some of the area’s most well-known musicians. Picnics are encouraged but food trucks and vendors are also onsite.

Music in Providence Park

Summer is here. You can feel it in the warmth of the sun, you can see it with the sights of little league games being played into the afternoon, and now the Village of Providence wants to help you hear the sounds of summer with their 2015 Music in Providence Park series. These concerts offer a wide variety of music, reaching out to a range of musical tastes. Many Village of Providence dining establishments will be offering special services such as delivery to guests seated in Providence Park. Village shops will also keep their doors open to people who prefer to shop while listening to the live music.

concertsSponsored by the City of Decatur Parks and Recreation Department, this concert series on the banks of the Tennessee River runs every Monday in June and July. These FREE concerts offer a wide variety of musical styles in a family-friendly setting. Guests are invited to bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets. Per Decatur City Ordinance, alcohol is not permitted in the park and pets must be leashed according to City laws. For more information call 256-341-4818.

Concerts @ Main

You know we HEART the library for a variety of reasons and this invigorating, joyful and totally FREE concert series that takes place in the atrium of the Main Branch is just one more reason to patronize our wonderful community libraries. This year there will also be an Artists’ Market held during the June 2, 16, and July 28 concerts.

June 2: Dancing with the Library Stars I, Rocket City Jazz Orchestra & the Huntsville Swing Dance Society, great big band music and dancing. Vote for the best Library Dancers.
June 16: Dancing with the Library Stars II, Moondust Big Band & the Huntsville Swing Dance Society, Round Two of our big band dance contest. Vote for the best Library Dancers.

Downtown Huntsville Summer Music Series

DHI-Logo-263x263Downtown Huntsville Inc. is once again planning to provide beaucoup opportunities to hear live music this summer. Last year’s popular Jam Sessions on Westside Square will happen every Thursday June – August. The popular Food Truck Rallies on Church Street will take place the third Friday of each month and will include musical guests this year. Finally, the Grotto Lights Concert Series in Big Spring Park East will take place the Second Saturday of each month.

For those of you in Madison, or those who just prefer a smaller event, this free concert series is held every Thursday in the summer from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. in downtown Madison. There will be free face painting, balloons, lemonade and cookies for the little ones and while you are welcome to bring your own picnic, there will also be food vendors on hand if you don’t want the hassle. Singing on the Square

Experience small town USA in Athens! Bring your lawnchairs and blankets and enjoy an old-fashioned evening of singing on the square (due to construction of Limestone Co. Courthouse this year’s concerts have been relocated to Big Spring Memorial Park at the corner of Beaty and Market Street). Rain Location: Emmanuel Baptist Church @ 1917 US Hwy 72 across from Athens Intermediate School.
