Huntsville Ghost Walks

Tours begin in front of historic Harrison Brothers Hardware store which is also where you purchase your tickets. There are three different walking tours (2 hours each) and a trolley ride (1 hour). While no one jumps out at you, it is a GHOST WALK, so be mindful of how easily your little ones might be scared.

Madison Ghost Walk

Madison Ghost Walk is the first expansion into another city by the good people from Huntsville Ghost Walk. You can expect the same professional story-telling from us as you already do. This Ghost Walk begins at Bandito Burrito on Main Street, Madison. Dogs on a leash are welcome.

Maple Hill Cemetery Stroll
Huntsville Cemetery Stroll

A wonderful Huntsville Tradition, this stroll through historic Maple Hill Cemetery includes more than 65 costumed characters will “come alive” to represent notables from the past. This event is FREE and open to the public. Donations welcome.

Wild Things Puppet Show

Join in for the Wild Things Puppet Show based on Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. This is a lively puppet show with songs, rhymes, and silly monsters. Appropriate for babies, preschool students and early elementary age children.

PNO Halloween Carnival @ The Matrix

Coach Lauren and Coach Pennie have planned a night of Halloween fun for all!  Children can wear their costumes and will trick or treat around The Matrix for prizes and goodies. Party Goers will eat pizza, watch Charlie Brown and The Great Pumpkin and make a festive Halloween craft.  You DO NOT want to miss this party. Spooktacular Science Halloween Party (Sci-Quest)

Bootanica (Huntsville Botanical Garden)

This family friendly day will be spook-tacularly fun for the whole family! A Parade of Costumes will take place at 11AM. There will be hay rides, hula hoop contests, pumpkin painting for the kids, and Steve the DJ helping with the Halloween fun.

6th Annual Teen Masquerade Ball

The Main Library will transform for the sixth annual Masquerade Ball, a celebration of Cosplay. Teens in middle and high school are invited to join us for an epic evening of food (NO alcohol), music and dancing. Hetalia, Homestuck, Sherlock, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, we want to see it all at this year’s ball! We are requesting to most creative and coolest cosplays to meet and dance like crazy! The only requirement is that costumes be appropriate for a public gathering. Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes. Advance tickets are available at all library locations or online here.

After Hours at the Library

spookystoriesWho doesn’t like a spooky story……especially when it is written by you! Join us on October 30th at 5:00 p.m. for a spooky movie and spooky story time telling. You write the story and we will read it together. Prizes for best stories! Of course, refreshments and costumes will be involved. Call the New Hope Library for reservations and story writing guidelines. We hope you will join us for a frightfully good time! This program is appropriate for ages 10 and older.

Halloween Party (All Ages)

MPL’s Youth Services Librarians present a brand new, original story: The Bravish Rabbit and the Not So Smart Raccoon. Everyone is invited to wear Halloween costumes, and children will be able to ‘trick or trick’ throughout the library after the puppet show.

Spooky Space Spectacular

The U.S. Space and Rocket Center invites you to join them for some spooktacular and spacey fun this Halloween. Enjoy the family-friendly movie, Hocus Pocus, (PG) at 6 p.m. in the Digital Theater. There will also be spellbinding simulators, a moon bounce, creepy crafts, out of this world trick or treats and much more! Finish the evening with a Kooky Costume Contest for all ages at 7:45 p.m.

Pumpkin Blast

pumpkinblastHoly Family Regional School and Tate Farms present the first ever Pumpkin Blast! Teams will compete by bringing their homemade air cannon or trebuchet to blast a pumpkin as far as it can go. Divisions are open for adults, college students and youths age 14-18 to compete. Tate Farms will be open that day for the general public to watch the event and enjoy the usual fall activities on the farm. Proceeds support Holy Family Regional School’s Restore the Mission Campaign.
