Review of Buenavista Mexican Cantina
Buenavista Mexican Cantina is located in front of the new Target shopping center on Hwy 72 in Madison. They have a large menu full of scrumptious food including homemade tamales and fish tacos, but my favorite is their street tacos–YUM! Their Pollos con Hongos with green pepper is delicious also.
The portions are large and they have a kids menu where all the items are $3.95 and include Mexican food choices as well as hamburger, chicken nuggets and french fries.
The decor and atmosphere is a big draw at this restaurant. I always enjoy walking around and looking at their light fixtures and decorations. They do have a bar with televisions and also a large party room with a nice fireplace and outside seating in the warm months of the year.
The food comes out fast but the chips are salsa will tame your appetite while you wait — we like their salsa a lot! High chairs and booster seats are available for kids, and they have changing tables in both the womens and mens restrooms. And if you celebrate a birthday here, you receive a special treat and get your picture made wearing a large sombrero.
For grown ups, Buenavista has Margarita Thursdays with live music, where their lime margaritas are just $2.99.
When I went to enjoy a mom’s night out dinner on a Monday, the waiters were friendly and helpful and everyone said they enjoyed their food and the frozen margaritas. The restaurant was clean, and because it is so large, we didn’t have to wait for a table. We never felt rushed, but we were so full at the end of the meal that we didn’t have room for desserts. They did look yummy though!
