Homeschool Day at Alabama Constitution Hall Park

Families will learn how cooking was done in the 19th century and earlier by preparing food over an open fire. We will explore cooking tools and find out why some pots are called spiders. Why are there cranes in the kitchen? Why is the kitchen separate from the house, and who does the cooking? This program is ideal for curious learners who enjoy a hands-on approach.
