Parent Review: Bravo! Cucina Italiana

The newly opened Bravo! Cucina Italiana at Bridgestreet is Huntsville’s latest Italian dining hot spot. The combination of great food, reasonable prices, and an extensive menu with options for everyone is sure to make Bravo a family favorite!

The brand new building has been tastefully appointed and arranged to feel open and inviting. Spring cannot come soon enough because the patio promises to be a great option for a happy hour visit, date night, or Moms’ Night Out.

Bravo Cucina Menu & Service

Much more than just spaghetti and meatballs, Bravo offers a wide-ranging menu that features grilled items, pizza, seafood, sandwiches, and salads in addition to their many pasta dishes. Entrée prices are anywhere from $11-21, and portion sizes were generous enough that my leftovers became the next day’s lunch.

We enjoyed the crispy ravioli appetizer when we dined. Served with two dipping sauces, there was plenty to share and the flavors and texture were just right. A complimentary basket of herbed bread and dipping oil was also brought to the table. Our entrée choices were the Spicy Scallop Marinara (I was glad to see that their lighter menu options had calorie counts labeled), and the Lobster Ravioli. Both were excellent. The kids chose an Alfredo pasta and of course chicken fingers. The food received high marks all around the table.

We teamed up for dessert and shared a Crème Brûlée and Berry Cheesecake around the table. Both were good, although the cheesecake was not your traditional slice, but what seemed to be more of a no-bake variety served in a ramekin.

The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive. Nary a dirty dish stayed on our table more than a few seconds after it was emptied!

Kid’s Menu & Amenities

The atmosphere is bright and welcoming with an open kitchen and high ceilings. It feels upscale without being intimidating, but they have also made great efforts to be a family-friendly dining option. The children’s menu offers an array of options in the $5-7 price range. It also serves as entertainment with crayons, mazes, tic-tac-toe, etc. I was impressed to see that they have included a family restroom, equipped with a changing table. I was even more impressed when my husband returned from the restroom and reported that there was a changing table in the men’s room as well. Props to Bravo for knowing that Rocket City Dads do diapers too!

I look forward to dining at Bravo again, both with and without the kids. There is a limited bar menu with small plates and happy hour specials that will hit the spot after a long workday…or long day of retail therapy at Bridge Street?!
