Planning a LEGO Birthday Party
Planning a party is one of the parts of a parent’s job description that can be the most daunting. What’s age-appropriate? Where are the best places to consider as party venues in Huntsville and Madison County? How can you throw a good party and stay within your budget?
We plan on helping busy parents find the answers to those questions and more in our series, “It’s My Party”, where we invite real, local parents to share their great party planning experiences with other readers. Whether you’re faced with a birthday, baby shower, adoption, or christening, we hope we can make it easier for you! Our Birthday Party Planner should definitely be in your bookmarks bar – it puts ALL the local party resources here in town at your fingertips!
Do you want to participate and share your personal party experience with other Huntsville parents? Just fill out our secure submission form here.
Big thanks to RCM reader, Abby D., for sharing her awesome LEGO birthday party ideas!
Age and gender of child:Â 4 year-old boy
Party theme:Â LEGO birthday
Party location and rental costs: Home, so no rental costs
Number of party guests: around 20 children
Invitations: I took a picture of a Duple lego plate with a Duplo figure on it. Once I uploaded it to my computer, I just added text and had the invitations printed as photos.
Cake and food: I made the LEGOÂ cake out of a mini loaf pan and used marshmallows for the connector pieces. Since my son was turning 4, I put the 4 mini loaves into that shape and iced each one a different color.
Games and activities: We had a small LEGOÂ set for each child (either a plane or a car) to build.
Favors: Each child got to take home their LEGOÂ set, along with a LEGOÂ head (spray painted baby food jars) with candy inside and a master builder tag with their name on it. Each one was put in a red favor bag that I glued circles on for connector pieces.
