Planning a LEGO Birthday Party

Planning a party is one of the parts of a parent’s job description that can be the most daunting. What’s age-appropriate? Where are the best places to consider as party venues in Huntsville and Madison County? How can you throw a good party and stay within your budget?

Age and gender of child: 4 year-old boy

Party theme: LEGO birthday

Party location and rental costs: Home, so no rental costs

Number of party guests: around 20 children

Invitations: I took a picture of a Duple lego plate with a Duplo figure on it. Once I uploaded it to my computer, I just added text and had the invitations printed as photos.

Cake and food: I made the LEGO cake out of a mini loaf pan and used marshmallows for the connector pieces. Since my son was turning 4, I put the 4 mini loaves into that shape and iced each one a different color.

Games and activities: We had a small LEGO set for each child (either a plane or a car) to build.

Favors: Each child got to take home their LEGO set, along with a LEGO head (spray painted baby food jars) with candy inside and a master builder tag with their name on it. Each one was put in a red favor bag that I glued circles on for connector pieces.
