Shopping & Special Events for Adults, Kids, & Families

While you come for the shopping and unique gift ideas, there is so much more to do for mom, dad, and the kids. Why not consider shopping early at Mimosas at the Market? That’s right, we said mimosas. 🙂 With a $30 ticket (purchased in advance and held at the entrance to the market) you can be one of the first to browse the 100+ merchants at the market and enjoy a weekend pass, two mimosas (optional, of course.), refreshments, and special discounts. Another fun addition this year is the Ornament Wreath session on Friday from 10:30a.m. – 12:00p.m. Enjoy a mimosa while crafting with friends at this adults-only event! All supplies are included with the $50 ticket purchase, along with a market day pass.

Create this beautiful ornament wreath, with help from an instructor,
to enjoy for years to come!

Looking for something for the kids? There are plenty of options for family fun including the perennial favorite Gingerbread Dreams. All Gingerbread House kits cost $25 and include one market day pass. They come festively wrapped with a wooden house, icing, candy, and all you need to create a perfect holiday treat. You can preorder or purchase at will call and The Special Events room. Take a kit home to decorate or at the market during any of the come-and-go time slots.

  • Friday, November 4, 3:00p.m. – 6:00p.m.
  • Saturday, November 5, 11:00a.m. – 2:00p.m. & 3:00p.m. – 6:00p.m.
  • Sunday, November 6, 12:00p.m. – 4:00p.m.

Get a festively packaged gingerbread kit with all the edible and decorative
fixings! You can buy more than one and host your own decorating party at
home or give them as gifts to friends and family.

Of course, that’s not the only thing on the agenda for kids. Your littles will enjoy Elf University. Randolph’s Lower School Science Teacher, Kelley Wolfe, will get your holiday helper revved up for the season with these fun stations to visit, including toy making, elf etiquette, present wrapping, and North Pole field games. The session is $25 and includes one Market Day pass.

Finally, what holiday event would be complete without a visit from Santa? Children of all ages (but especially those of a certain age) will enjoy Storytime with Santa. This special reading of The Night Before Christmas on Saturday morning from 10:30-11:30a.m. is $30 and includes one child, one adult, a book, and an opportunity to create an ornament with help from Santa and Mrs. Claus to take home! Children under 7 must be accompanied by a parent and each person must have a ticket. At Cookies with Santa on Sunday from 1:00-1:30p.m., kids will also enjoy a reading of the book, special time with Santa, and take home a tasty treat.

All for a Great Cause

Under the Christmas Tree is Randolph School’s largest special event fundraiser and contributes more than $100,000 to Randolph’s Tailored Tuition program, which is designed to offset the cost of tuition for families. With Tailored Tuition, a family’s cost is based on a sliding scale from 25 to 100 percent of tuition. Applicants have the option to submit information to a confidential third-party system for a thorough financial assessment. Following that analysis, a tuition recommendation is made and reviewed by Randolph’s Tailored Tuition Team. The goal of Randolph’s Tailored Tuition program is to attract quality students, supportive families, and put the possibility of affording a Randolph education within reach.

“Affordability is one of the most important conversations that we have with families. As an independent school, if Randolph is the educational choice that is the best fit – in terms of academic and college preparation, arts involvement, athletics opportunities, our traditions, and student experiences – we don’t want financial concerns to deter great students and families from joining our amazing school community.” – Adam Bernick, Assistant Head of School for Advancement & Strategy
