Jarrett Krosoczka Returns to Huntsville

Hold on to your hairnets, Huntsville. Jarrett Krosoczka is headed back to the Rocket City after a seven year hiatus, thanks to Rocket City Mom’s annual Learning Expo on Saturday, January 31.
[sws_pullquote_right] “I cannot wait to get back to Rocket City! Rocket City Mom and their team put on an amazing show, and I’m honored to be a part of it.” – JJK [/sws_pullquote_right] Chances are, your kid has read a JJK  book. He’s the author and illustrator of more than twenty-five books for young readers, including picture books, chapter books, and graphic novels.

His books offer something for every age range – does your preschooler like rebellious farm animals? Punk Farm is a JJK book they’ll love. Got a third grader who’s a reluctant reader? The Lunch Lady graphic novel series could be right up their alley. And those are just a few!

Not just an artist & author, Jarrett is engaged with students, teachers, librarians, and book-lovers all over the country. He’s an active advocate of art education, and speaks about the impact art had on his own life wherever he can. Take a look at the other places you might have seen or heard about Jarrett:

This guy is seriously awesome.

Krosoczka will be speaking at two sessions at the Learning Expo on January 31, as well as signing books and talking with readers. Books will be available to purchase at the event. “I cannot wait to get back to Rocket City! Rocket City Mom and their team put on an amazing show, and I’m honored to be a part of it.”

Jarrett has been passionate about storytelling through words and pictures since he was a kid. He began his professional career by illustrating educational readers for a national publisher while still an undergraduate at Rhode Island School of Design. Then, just six months after graduation, Jarrett received his first contract for a trade book that he authored. Knopf Books for Young Readers published Good Night, Monkey Boy on June 12, 2001 and Jarrett hasn’t stopped or slowed down since.
