These summer hikes are designed specifically for high school students interested in spending time outdoors and learning about North Alabama’s natural environment. Come join at the Chapman Mountain Nature Preserve as they hike the “high trails” of the preserve. This hike will give the opportunity to get out and see the upper elevations of the preserve. They'll start by heading south from the pavilion on the Moonshine Trail. They'll take the Whole Planet Trail to the Terry Trail for a walk up the hill. A loop on the Bulldog trail will bring the group around to catch the Terry Trail back down to the pavilion.

Discovering Mars: Robot Explorers is now open with full-scale models of the Mars Sojourner, Mars Exploration and Curiosity rovers along with the InSight Mars Lander, and the Ingenuity helicopter. Each of these vehicles in this interactive exhibit represents the kinds of robotic technologies that have explored the Martian surface, providing valuable insight on our solar system neighbor - Mars.

The Greene Street Market at Nativity is downtown Huntsville's producer-only, open-air market for fresh, locally-grown vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers! It's where you go to meet farmers with gorgeous local produce, grass fed beef and pork, free range chickens and eggs; pick up freshly-prepared meals, gourmet popsicles, traditionally-made relishes, cheeses, preserves and breads. And, it's where local artisans offer their works!

The Piney Chapel American Farm Heritage Days is considered one of the best antique engine shows in Alabama offering festival goers a chance to see an array of farm equipment including gasoline and steam engines in action, horse-drawn equipment, antique tractors, cars and trucks and other farming collectibles!The two-day event also offers a variety of flea market, parts and craft vendors and concessions! Proceeds from concession sales this year will go to the Owens Fire Department. Other activities for families to enjoy including tractor slow races, a skillet throw contest for ladies and pedal pull for the kids!
