Built for Families- Sweet Springs Retreat in Guntersville

📍 Just over an hour from Huntsville, Sweet Springs Retreat is a hidden gem tucked into the hills just a mile from Lake Guntersville State Park. If your family’s looking for a weekend getaway that combines peaceful nature with all the fun of a kid-friendly resort, this may be your new favorite spot.

We stayed for the weekend and left feeling refreshed, connected, and honestly a little sad to go.

A Family-Friendly Retreat Designed for Rest & Play

Sweet Springs Retreat is built with families in mind. From the cozy cabins to the fully stocked General Store, everything here feels intentional and thoughtful. You can spend your days kayaking on the pond, hiking private trails, relaxing in the hot tub, or watching your kids bounce their energy out in the on-site Entertainment Center.

It’s the kind of place where you can completely unplug or at least try to!

Top Things to Do at Sweet Springs Retreat (Without Leaving the Property!)

We were blown away by how much there was to do right on site. If you want to go full-on retreat mode and skip leaving the property, you absolutely can.

Here’s just a sample of what’s available:

🎮 Entertainment Center with arcade games, inflatable bouncers, sports activities, and a cozy movie room
🧸 Play kitchen and toys for younger children
🚲 Bikes for all ages with kid-sized helmets!
🛶 Kayaks and life jackets available for pond time
🥾 Private hiking trails with beautiful views
🔥 Fire pits perfect for s’mores and stargazing
🧺 Laundry machines available for guest use
🛍️ On-site General Store with snacks, toiletries, and common forgotten items
Our little one especially loved the arcade and inflatables. It’s hard to overstate how nice it was not to have to drive anywhere to keep the fun going!

🍕 Grab a bite at Pizza Ed’s, a local favorite that serves up delicious, family-approved pies. We highly recommend it!
