One of the Tennessee Valley’s most beloved holiday events will look very different this year. The Earlyworks Family of Museums is moving Santa’s Village from the Alabama Constitution Village grounds to the Historic Huntsville Depot in 2018. Along with the move comes a shiny new attraction: The North Pole Express!
Santa’s Village Moving
The Jolly Old Elf’s home in Huntsville has been a family favorite for over 15 years. Previously it has featured a peek into Mr. and Mrs. Clause’s home, kitchen, elf workshop, and winter wonderland of a backyard full of hands-on activities and photo opportunities.
The reason for the move is a good one – the popular event has outgrown it’s space. Relocating Santa and his crew to the Huntsville Depot grounds will provide room for the Christmas event to grow. All of the favorites are returning like the reindeer, snow, crafts, cookies, North Pole post office, and more will be there. Look for Santa’s Village to incorporate more for train and Huntsville history lovers! The train will have lights galore that dance to music!
Santa’s Village will have more open spaces for kids to be kids in a magical winter wonderland in this new location.
We are excited about all the new possibilities for this event, and for a whole generation of kids to experience Santa’s Village in a new way! Rocket City Mom will be providing more information throughout the holiday season to keep families updated on all the new elements .
Santa’s Village will open November 23rd – December 23rd from 5pm – 9pm nightly. The Huntsville Historic Depot is located at 320 Church Street Huntsville, AL 35801. Admission is $7/person. Children under two-years-old are free. Purchase tickets at the Huntsville Historic Depot or online at earlyworks.com
