Update: This attraction is now closed. Dinosaur Den is Huntsville’s newest indoor play area. Admission is free, but rides require tickets that can be purchased for $1 each.

Rides and required tickets include:

• Trackless train ride: 3 tickets
• Carousel: 3 tickets
• Helicopter: 3 tickets
• Mechanical bull: 5 tickets
• Flying car: 5 tickets
• Bumper cars: 5 tickets

The current ticket special is purchase 50 tickets and receive an additional 10 tickets free.

Particular highlights for my 5-year-old son were the trackless train ride, carousel, helicopter, flying car and bumper cars. He also enjoyed the inflatables – which require socks to be worn for all inflatable use.

Dinosaur Den Party Packages

Dinosaur Den offers three birthday party packages: Deluxe, Extra Deluxe and Super Deluxe. Prices start at $300. There is a $50 upcharge for weekend use of the facility. Package add-ons include dinosaur fossil cake, erupting dinosaur volcano cake, edible invitations, dino bone snacks, dinosaur fossil dig, dinosaur egg hunt, golden ticket candy bars, edible dinosaur dirt puddings, Jurassic Jello, ice cream and T-shirts.

Fundraising Opportunities

Dinosaur Den offers fundraising opportunities for local organizations Monday through Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Patrons just need to mention the organization’s name at the time of admission, and 25 percent of admission sales will be given to the organization. A check will be mailed within 10 business days of the event.

Snack Bar & Restrooms

There is a snack bar located at the back of the play area with plenty of places to sit down and enjoy a snack. We enjoyed hot dogs and a cool beverage from the soda fountain, along with fast and friendly service with a smile. Other items available for purchase at the snack bar include popcorn, cotton candy, pizza, chips, jumbo dill pickles, candy bars, chocolate dino dirt, Jurassic Jello and cookies. Restrooms are just a short walk from the snack bar area.

No outside food is permitted, other than baby food and formula.
