CELEBRATE! CELEBRATE! The Daleks were feeling festive.
The Party Basics

Party Location: The party location was at our personal residence, as many participants were traveling from around the TN valley so we wanted to try to get a central location that was the easiest for most guests to reach. We also thought it would be fun to share the progress of our nursery with friends and family in person!

Facility rental costs: None, as the venue was our home. 🙂

Number of party guests: Approximately 50 invites went out with an attendance of approximately 23 guests

Invitations: Design by Etsy seller redheadedink; printed via Snapfish. Cheese labels and other markers were printed using personal computer/printer and card stock.

Cake & Food: The cake was by personal friend, Aeriel Ross; all other food preparations were divided between the shower coordinators using personal, family recipes. A selection of Wisconsin cheese was provided by Sandy Stapleton (My husband and his family are natives of Wisconsin so this was a special regional treat)

The shower was a great opportunity to show our Doctor Who themed nursery!

Games & Activities: No shower games were offered; activities included eating (who doesn’t love food?!), shower gift presentations, and watching a DVD compilation of personal photos and music (Doctor Who) of Eve and Phil (first dates, engagement photos, wedding photos, and maternity photos taken over the years).

Favors: Homemade iced sugar cookies with baby’s monogram

Online resources used to plan: Etsy, Pinterest, and ThinkGeek

Final thoughts: We wanted to offer a baby shower with personalized touches and a means to thank our friends, family, and community for their continued support and love as we begin this exciting adventure. We were able to put together something that was mindful of a specific budget and being able to craft or create most of the elements ourselves allowed us the freedom to save money and keep the touches personal and individualized. The best part was in sharing our special day with those we love. Allons-y!
