Dave Ramsey course for high school and middle school students now $30
Got a tween or teen at home who might have some time on their hands? Why not use this as an opportunity to teach them financial responsibility. Better yet, why not use this as an opportunity to let Dave Ramsey teach them about financial responsibility while you attend to the other myriad responsibilities you have?
Dave Ramsey is currently offering the high school and middle school editions of his Foundations in Personal Finance: Self-Study courses at a steep discount. I want to be very clear and upfront that this is not a sponsored post, we don’t make any money if you buy these courses, and I have not tried these particular courses.
That said, my husband and I did use Ramsey’s methods back in 2008, during a recession, when I was 8 months pregnant with our first child, we were paying rent on a home in one city, mortgage on a home in another, and I had just left my full-time job to freelance and be home with our new baby. Our money situation was not great and a close friend recommended Ramsey’s book The Total Money Makeover. We found a lot of his advice made sense, we followed his plans, and it helped us make it through a very difficult time.
So I would not hesitate to recommend Ramsey’s work in general and these look like a great option for families with teens and tweens who are already at home with extra time to do something they wouldn’t normally be able to fit in their schedule. The courses are self-study with auto-graded assessments and include lessons on budgeting, saving, and investing.
