Finally, before you head into the weekend and our picks for family-fun, considering stopping in at Babies ‘R Us at Bridgestreet today, Thursday, September 10th between 10AM-6PM where we’ll be set up with some special guests to take donations for babies in need. Can’t stop in? Drive up and leave your donation with the crew from WHNT19 who will be set up outside all day, or donate online to Manna House and/or Crisis Services of North Alabama.

Concerts on the Dock
Friday from 6-9 PM

Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment (map)
This free, family friendly series is all about creating a laid back atmosphere for friends of Lowe Mill to enjoy original content and interesting new acts. Bring chairs, picnics, friends and pets on a leash and join us under the water tower – tonight’s act is Danika & Jeb, a Nashville based duo combining complex acoustic rhythms with vocals full of heart and soul. Concerts on the Dock are always free but we ask a $2 suggested parking donation. Please Carpool!
Arab Community Fair
Saturday from 9AM-4PM

This fun annual fair is worth the drive from Huntsville! Your family can find plenty to enjoy – live music, wagon rides, food, and demonstrations of historic blacksmithing, quilling, corn grinding, and candy making, Bring your lawn chairs and make a day of it!
Meet a Superhero

Superhero Day in Athens is a childhood cancer awareness event. Hosted by Team Victory4 All, a non-profit childhood cancer organization, the free event features realistic superheroes, a one-mile fun run, a motorcycle show, kids activity booths, food and music. Get more details here.
Social Media Safety Workshop
Saturday at 10AM & 2PM
Cost: FREE, RSVP required
The Harbour UMC (map)
This Community Workshop is for parents and teens 6th through 12th grades. It will cover Basic Internet Safety Do’s and Don’ts, Dealing with Online Bullies and Abuse, Spotting Signs of Depression, and more. Learn to Manage: Privacy Settings, Accepting Friends and Followers, and the Amount of Information to Post. Seating is limited please call 256-828-7530 to register, or RSVP online.
Character Breakfasts with a Cause

Sci-Quest: Doc McStuffins and Handy Manny will make an appearance for photos, and Home Depot will be hosting a kid’s workshop on-site. Get tickets or more info.
