Drop-In & Create Saturday

FreeDrop-In & Create Saturdays offer fun, interactive art making activities for families with children ages 3 and up that will be sure to spark one’s creativity! Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The program will be held in the Stender Family Interactive Education Galleries or Museum’s Great Hall.

May 4: Patterned Pets
Draw a pet with various shapes. Then create a background with different colors with oil pastels using texture plates.
June 8: Cubist Butterfly
Explore the Shaping American Art exhibition. Draw a butterfly with crayons then fracture the picture plane. Fill the shapes with watercolor.
July 13: What is on Your Plate?
Create a collage by filling your plate with your favorite foods. Inspired by the Eat, Drink & Be Merry exhibition of artwork from the Museum’s permanent collection.
August 10: Cartoon Animals!
Take A Journey into Imagimation: Over 100 Years of Animation Art from Around the World exhibition. Create your own cartoon animal with Sharpie pen and watercolor crayons.
September 7: Animals in Art
Inspired by the Buccellati: A Silver Menagerie, Highlights from the Betty Grisham Collection of Buccellati Animals exhibition, create a lion sculpture using art papers, silver crayons, and Sharpie pen.
