Here you’ll find several that are within driving distance and each offers something just a little different but they are all a whole lot of fun.

Lyon Family Farms (Taft, TN)

Located just over the Tennessee border, this farm is open on September 20. Hours are Wed-Fri 2-7 PM, Sat 9 AM-6 PM, and Sun 1-6PM. It offers a pumpkin patch, hayrides, corn maze, petting zoo, and advertises that it has the area’s only 2400 SQ FT Pillow Bounce.

4D Farm (Cullman, AL)

Opening September 27th the 2014 hours are Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays from 2-6PM and Saturdays from 10AM-6PM. Come on down and enjoy the  jumping pillow, cow train, two story play barn, walk through the maze, hayride to the pumpkin patch, 80 ft slide, farm animals, pig races, rubber duck races, sand pit, Hippity Hop Horses, tire mountain, and spider web.

Down on the Farm (Rainesville)

Opening September 20th the 2014 hours at this Rainsville farm will be Tuesday-Thursday from 4-8PM, Fridays 4-9PM, Saturdays 10AM-9PM, and Sundays 10AM-6PM.  Activities include a corn maze, pumpkin painting, hayrides, a simulated milking cow, lots of playground fun for the little ones and a farm animal petting zoo.

Tate Farms (Meridianville)

Pumpkins, pumpkin patch-pick in the field, pumpkin patch- already gathered from the field, train rides, straw or hay bale maze, corn cannon, tractor-pulled hay rides, wagon rides, Honey from hives on the farm, prepicked produce, gift shop, snacks and refreshment stand, restrooms, picnic area, face painting, petting zoo, farm animals, birthday parties, weddings and wedding parties, school tours. Sand Mountain Corn Maze (Sardis City)

Corn Blasters, Duck Races and Cow Train rides are just some of the family fun to be had at this giant corn maze. There is also a pumpkin patch, hay rides, play barn and pumpkin store. Opens Sept. 20 at 10:00AM.

McGee Farm (Florence)

Open September 13-October 31, this family farm advertises itself as “Country Atmosphere” and the owners encourage you to “sit under our big oak and listen to the country sounds.” Take a 20-30 minute trip to the real pumpkin patch where you can see and pick small and large pumpkins right off the vine. Children an also feed the chickens, see baby goats, and pick cotton. They also have thousands of Mums to select from. Pumpkin prices start at 3/$1.00, large pumpkins $.30/pound.

Scarecrow Trail (Huntsville Botanical Gardens)

Over 50 Scarecrows are placed throughout the Garden along with awesome hay bale art. Walk through the Garden and see all the great creations, now through October 31st. Weekend hay rides add to the fun and this year there is also a sorghum maze for kids of all ages to explore.

Punkin’ Pickin’ Extravaganza

Now in it’s second year, this train is sure to be a fun day for the whole family! An alternative to the traditional pumpkin patch, the North Alabama Railroad Museum is combining the thrill of picking a pumpkin with the excitement of a train ride! Riders will be allowed to disembark from the train at Normal and enter a punkin’ patch (pumpkins provided by McGee Farms). The children will be allowed to select a pumpkin (included in the price of their ticket) and take it back to Chase on the train and then home.
