We’re living for weekends here at my house, and this one looks fantastic!

Huntsville area families have so many choices to get out and do something fun and we’ve listed our favorites for your consideration below. Of course, you can also browse out full Event Calendar if you need even more ideas.

And for all you Fall enthusiasts that can’t wait for cooler weather & pumpkin spice you can make the beautiful drive up to Lyon Family Farms for their Opening Weekend this Saturday. It’s a great way to beat the crowds and their pumpkin patch is the perfect setting for Fall family photos – you can take them early!

Superhero Day in Athens

This free community event includes realistic superheroes, the Defenders of Hope competition, The Flash Dash Fun Run, Market Vendors, Food, Music, and new this year is the “Real Superheroes” and the “Super Shear,” which is an opportunity to donate hair to Wigs 4 Kids.

Southern Authors Expo

Saturday from 10AM – 4PM

A great event for older kids who are aspiring authors, the Library’s Southern Authors Expo will be filled to the gills with local and regional authors ready to share their works with you. Book signings, readings, and discussions abound!

Storytime at the Book Store

4th Annual International Chocolate Day

Planetarium Show

It’s Youth and Adult observing night, with the topic of the “Water Constellations”: Capricorn, Delphinus, Aquarius, and Pisces. Viewing through the society’s and members’ telescopes will follow. Read our review before you go!

Superhero Exhibit Opens in Huntsville
