THE shopping event of the season – you can buy for family, friends, teachers, pets, and the mailman! In addition to all kinds of Christmas decorating ideas and more than 100 specialty merchants from 9 states, the 32nd Annual Under the Christmas Tree Market will include Breakfast with Santa, Photos with Santa, holiday art activities, gingerbread decorating parties, Elf University, and even a special Harry Potter Christmas event! (Special events have an additional fee.)

Build a Toy Helicopter

Saturday from 9-Noon

You can help make a toy helicopter with your kid – a great project to prepare for Veteran’s Day! These hands-on workshops designed for children ages 5-12 and include a Kids Workshop Apron, commemorative pin and certificate of achievement.

Tree Planting Festival

Come get a free tree to plant at your home and help Operation Green Team plant a tree in John Hunt Park. They’ll have some fun learning activities for children as well as free popcorn, cotton candy and hot chocolate.

Free Play Basketball

Nutcracker Tea

Make a keepsake craft, meet Nutcrackers dancers, and hear the story of The Nutcracker at this Mommy & Me Nutcracker Tea. The tea party will conclude with a mini presentation of show excerpts performed by members of the Alabama Youth Ballet. This is a great event if you have a little one that loves ballet, but might not be ready to sit through an entire show.
