Spring has definitely sprung in Huntsville, and it looks like a rainy weekend in store. Lucky for you we have a whole list of fun things to do below, as well as our Guide to Indoor Play Places to keep the little ones occupied & busy.

Rocket City Regional FIRST Robotics Competition

Join over fifty high school FIRST® teams from Alabama and eleven other states as they bring showcase their creativity, determination, enthusiasm and Gracious Professionalism. Demonstrations will be presented by students ages 6-18, along with hands-on activities in Technology Row for all ages This is the largest STEM stage in Alabama, so you won’t want to miss it! Cheer on the kids and see some cool robotic engineering.

Guided Tour of Historic Lowe Mill

If your kids are obsessed with Lowe Mill as mine are, they might love this guided tour with the director! The Mill’s story is fascinating, and it’s a great opportunity to learn some Huntsville history. You can grab a Suzy’s Pop or a delectable Pizzelle when you’re done.

Easter Bunny Hop Party

Take a Ride on the Mars Experience Bus

Parents these days are literally raising the Mars Generation, and if your kids are all about space exploration, you must come see this very cool bus Lockeed Martin has put together to simulate the surface of Mars. The Mars Bus uses mobile virtual reality to show families what it’s like to drive on the Mars surface! You don’t see that every weekend.

Family Weekend Storytime

Ready yoUrself For the Future is teaming up with Madison City Schools and Greenpower USA to bring to you Rise Above: The 2nd Annual Madison City Kite Festival and The Second Annual Madison City Electric Vehicle Race. Empty Bowls Huntsville

Empty Bowls Huntsville is a project benefiting First Stop, a local organization dedicated to eradicating homelessness in our community. During the event you will receive a handmade pottery bowl made by local potters and the community, a bowl of soup and a drink for your $15 donation. There will also be entertainment, door prizes, a slide show of sponsors and makers, information about First Stop and their mission and more. A fun date night or teen event that can make a huge impact in our neighborhood.
