The countdown to school has begun… but that doesn’t mean the fun has to end! Your weekend is just beginning, and you should make the most of it with our list of free and/or cheap thing to do with your family.

Kitten Party

AFK Cat Rescue is hosting a Kitten Party! Over 20 kittens will be available for you and your family to play with. There is no charge for this event and their will be party refreshments served. Kittens are available for adoption, but you don’t need to be interested in adopting to come.

Free Weekend Concerts

Enjoy the free sumer concerts while you still can! There are several opportunities to shake a tail feather this weekend.

It’s your last chance to catch this interactive display before it makes room for something new. (Don’t worry – it will be back later next year!) Feel the effects of energy as you step into a simulated tornado and try out a working storm shelter equipped with hands-on safety games. Guests also experience the shaking and sounds created by earthquakes and can generate electricity to produce light with their own pedal power. The Rocket Center’s new Magic Planet® interactive, sphere-shaped display allows guests to see hurricanes in motion, airplanes navigate the globe and how the Earth’s climate works.
