Weekend Roundup July 17-20

Aren’t you glad it’s Thursday? Because that means Rocket City Mom gets to give you the inside scoop on what’s happening in Huntsville that’s free, family-friendly, and fun for your whole family! It’s been a strikingly beautiful week in the Rocket City weather-wise, but I’m afraid we will probably be seeing some rain this Saturday. Good thing you can sort both indoor and outdoor events accordingly in our Event Calendar!

A few notes before the Roundup:

Alrighty then… let’s ROUND ‘EM UP!

WERU_#1Take Them Out to the Ballgame

Thursday – Sunday
Cost: $4 each with RCM discount
Joe Davis Stadium, Huntsville (map)

There’s only a few more chances to see the Huntsville Stars play in the Rocket City, and I think the weather will be perfect, at least up through this Saturday. Sunday’s game is at 4PM while the other three start at 6:30. Would you like $4 tickets? Show this post at the box office, ask for the Rocket City Mom reader discount, & it’s yours!

WERU_#3Movie In Providence Park

Friday at 8PMish – RESCHEDULED due to rain
Cost: FREE
Village of Providence (map)

I hope the weather holds out for the Village of Providence‘s next movie under the stars, especially because it features a classic creature FROM the stars! Treat your kids to a favorite from your childhood – “E.T.” will be showing on the big outdoor screen, so bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and bug spray and grab some dinner from one of the many restaurants surrounding the park.

PRO-TIP: If you’ve got little ones, you can run out some wiggles before the movie over at the Little Gym of Providence’s Open Play Night – members are free and non-members are just $1!

This Drop In & Create program at HMA is especially great for kids ages 3 and up. This weekend kids can make a fish sculpture drawing inspiration from the “Buccellati Silver Animals” exhibition.
